Youth Performance Group Auditions

Mini, Junior, and Senior Company Audition: June 7, 12-1pm

Auditions for our Youth Contemporary Companies and Hip Hop Crews are open to all interested students ages 6-18. Company members students to focus on learning dance choreography and performance skills with the opportunity to perform in at least two additional performances outside of the year-end showcase. Past performances have included Boston Children's Museum, Fall Dance Crawl, South End Showdown, Winter Wonder Week, and the ICA Boston's Family Day.

Contemporary Companies

Urbanity’s Youth Companies give Contemporary students the opportunity to focus on learning choreography and building performance skills. Mini Company is for ages 6–9, Junior Company is for ages 8–11, and Senior Company is for ages 12–18.

  • Upon acceptance onto either the Mini, Junior, or Senior Company after the audition, you will be invited to register for the specific company class on Sawyer.

  • All those that join a youth company must also take at least one Contemporary and/or Ballet technique class per week

  • Supplemental classes in Acro and/or Musical Theater are encouraged, but not required.

Hip Hop Companies

Our Youth Crews allow Hip Hop students to focus on learning dance choreography and performance skills. Mini is for ages , Junior is for ages , and Senior is for ages 12-18.

  • Upon acceptance onto either the Mini, Junior, or Senior Crew after the audition, you will be invited to register for the specific company class on Sawyer.

  • All those that join a youth company must also take at least one Hip Hop technique class per week.
