Urbanity Dance’s Work-Study program provides our Adult Program students with the opportunity to work in exchange for free dance classes! Duties include customer service such as checking-in students, handling payments and maintaining student records, as well as general office work such as cleaning, answering phone calls, relaying messages and providing basic information to the public. Cleaning or maintenance duties require late hours of work. Our work studies are very important to our organization. Volunteer your time and earn free dance classes, administration experience, and be a part of a great dance organization!
Students work a shift (typically 2 hours) in exchange for two free classes within our Adult Program (seasonal session and/or drop in classes). The more hours you work, the more dance classes you can take. Students can take the class during their shift as well. Workshops and special master classes require an additional fee. Perks for our work studies are free classes, 2 free tickets to one Urbanity-produced performance during their season, 1 piece of Urbanity merchandise every 6 months, connect with Urbanity's network, and add arts administration experience to your resume.
Applicants must commit to a minimum of one adult session (8, 10, or 12 weeks)
Proficiency in English (Spanish is a plus, but not required)
Prior experience in customer service
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask with detailed accuracy in a fast-paced environment
