Studio Admin

Urbanity Dance is hiring studio admins for the 2023-2024 school year (September-June). Duties include customer service such as checking in students, handling basic registrations, and knowing how to access student records, as well as general office work such as cleaning, answering phone calls and emails, relaying messages to staff and faculty, and providing basic information to the public. Cleaning or maintenance duties require admins to arrive 15-30 minutes before class and to stay 15-30 minutes after class ends.

We aim to engage people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities, both in their own communities and in our own studio space, by helping them discover or rediscover the joy of movement. Through our Company, School, and Community work, Urbanity Dance serves over 10,000 individuals throughout the Greater Boston community each year.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in English (Spanish or Mandarin is a plus, but not required)

  • Prior experience in customer service

  • Proficiency in Google Software

  • Experience living in and being a part of Boston’s diverse neighborhoods (preferred)

  • An appreciation for dance and belief in the impact of community-based dance education

Schedule & Working Environment:

This is a part-time, in-studio position with shifts available Monday-Thursday (3:00-9:30pm), Saturday (8:30am-4pm) and Sunday (8:30am-12:00pm). Urbanity desires to work with the candidate to accommodate any requests to the best of organizational ability.Please note: Balance studio is not wheelchair accessible, but HQ Studio and Central Studio both are.

We are currently looking to fill the following shifts: Mondays 3:00-9:20pm, Wednesdays 3:00-8:45pm & Saturdays 8:30-11:30am

Salary: $18/hr

    • The family members of part-time admins working 10-20 hours per week are eligible for a 20% discount on Urbanity Dance events, classes, camps, intensives, seminars and workshops

  • Discounted studio rentals

  • Two complimentary tickets to all Urbanity Company performances

  • One piece of Urbanity merch each year and a 20% discount on all additional Urbanity merch
