10th Anniversary Company Season

Recognizing the 10th anniversary of the organization’s non-profit founding, Urbanity invites its community to a series of performances that celebrate its achievements over the past decade, while looking to its next chapter of continuing to provide meaningful dance experiences for its community.

The first of the Urbanity X residency series, The Sky & the Sea is an interdisciplinary performance, combining dance, film, and code to illustrate the complexity of how one's real and virtual identity coexists - asking how one's virtual identity relates to and affects their real one and vice versa. Performed by Urbanity Underground and Junior Apprentice dancers, this work in progress will feature choreography by Kendall Niblett in collaboration with Will Neely and ONASMA: Shadow Dance.

Performed by Urbanity’s Creative Class.

Urbanity's Creative Class of Urbanity Underground and Junior Apprentice dancers will perform and present new work. Urbanity Underground is Urbanity's second company comprised of accomplished dancers who are pursuing various professions or advanced studies, but still want to stay connected to dance at a high level. Urbanity's Junior Apprentices are talented high school students ages 14+ who are interested in pursuing a career in dance.

The 10 Year Anniversary season will conclude with performances of new works choreographed by Nailah Randall-Bellinger, Meg Anderson, Asia Pyron, Levi Marsman, and Key’Aira Lockett at the Multicultural Arts Center, Cambridge. Learn more about the choreographers here.
