Movement Meets Volunteer Training in Partnership with the Office of the Arts at Harvard

The Movement Meets Volunteer Training on Friday, April 10 from 3-5pm at Harvard Dance Center, Studio 1 will provide both an overview of the program as well as trauma-informed training for assisting movement workshops in variety of settings. The training will be led by Founder/Director of Urbanity Dance Betsi Graves. The program offers specialized training for volunteers who will serve in the capacity of teaching assistants in a range of clinical and social service settings.

Teaching assistants offer a range of support, including demonstrating modifications, welcoming and getting to know the students, supporting individual students as needed, and assisting with set up and clean up in the space. After a student completes the volunteer training and assists classes, individualized teacher training and mentorship is available for those interested.

Harvard Dance Center is accessible for wheelchairs and other mobility devices. If you have questions about the accessibility provided or need to request accommodations, please contact dance@fas.harvard.edu or 617-496-0314.
