Studio Rentals
Urbanity Dance has three studio locations in the South End of Boston, currently accepting rental inquiries through June 2024. Urbanity HQ, Central, and Balance are all within walking distance of each other. Rental inquiries must be submitted more than a week in advance of the date(s) requested. Rental requests made less than 3 days in advance will be subject to an additional late request fee.
The rental may be canceled or rescheduled by the renter with a minimum 3 days notice. In case of a cancellation less than 3 days before your event, half of the total rental cost will be retained by Urbanity Dance. For studio availability and booking, please email rentals@urbanitydance.org.
Urbanity Dance Headquarters (1180 Washington St.)
UDHQ is available for rentals starting at $40/hr. This newly renovated studio is perfect for master classes, workshops, rehearsals with large ensembles, photoshoots, events, and parties. Capacity is 25-30 for classes, and up to 40 for seated performances.
UDHQ features a sprung marley floor studio about 1,228 sq ft. Amenities include: an in-studio bathroom, WiFi, a Bose sound system with phone plug-in, a microwave and mini fridge, a security system, and an array of fitness and wellness equipment.
UDHQ is widely available Mon-Thurs from 9am-3pm, Friday 9am-9pm, and Sunday 10am-5pm. Those interested in long-term rentals for a discounted rate should reach out to rentals@urbanitydance.org for more information.
Urbanity Central (725 Harrison Ave.)
Urbanity Central is available for rentals starting at $30/hr. This studio is perfect for master classes, workshops, rehearsals with medium-large casts, photo/video shoots, and work events. Capacity is 20 people for class, and up to 35 for seated performances.
Urbanity Central features a marley floor studio about 1,092.5 sq ft (Length = 47.5 ft, Width = 23 ft). Amenities include a spacious studio with gorgeous large windows, a small kitchen with mini fridge and microwave, spacious bathroom, WiFi, a bluetooth compatible speaker, speaker with a phone plug-in, two movable mirrors, ballet barres, and a security system.
Central is available varying day time hours Mon-Thurs, Fridays from 12pm-9pm, Saturdays from 3pm-9pm, and Sundays 9am-2pm and 6:30-9pm. Reach out to rentals@urbanitydance.org for more information or to book Urbanity Central!

Urbanity Balance (111 W Concord St, Boston MA 02118)
Urbanity Balance is available for rentals starting at $20/hr. With its lengthy and narrow hardwood floors, this basement studio is perfect for yoga/mindfulness classes, street styles, heels, rehearsals with small casts, and birthday parties. Capacity is 15 people for class, and up to 20 for birthday parties or events.
Urbanity Balance features a hardwood floor about 480 sq ft (Length= 40 ft, Width=12 ft). Amenities include a small kitchen with fridge and microwave, spacious bathroom, WiFi, bluetooth and phone plug-in speakers, yoga mats and blocks, ballet barres, and a security system.

Sliding Scale Option for Balance
Urbanity Balance, located at 111 West Concord St. (rear entrance), is available for sliding scale rentals. The sliding scale option is $0-20/hr, with the facilities fee waived. Anyone is invited to apply, regardless of financial status. Applications will be reviewed by the rentals team on a rolling basis, and you will be contacted to set up your studio rental.

Rental Policies
Cleaning: Renter is responsible for mopping the floor and wiping down all touched surfaces (in-studio and bathroom) with the sanitation supplies found and labeled in the studio, at the end of their rental period. All fitness equipment belonging to Urbanity, including yoga props, should be thoroughly wiped down using the cleanser before and after use.
Hygiene: Please wash hands/use hand sanitizer before touching surfaces in the space, including stereo or fitness equipment.
Attendees: Prior to renting, renter must report the total # of attendees anticipated in the space at one time.
Cancellation Policy: The rental may be canceled or rescheduled (subject to availability) with a minimum of 3 days’ notice. In case of a cancellation less than 3 days before your event, half of the total rental cost will be retained by Urbanity Dance.
