Community Coordinator

Urbanity Dance is looking to hire a part-time Community Coordinator. Please apply by January 13, 2019.

This position will balance two sets of responsibilities--customer service for our students and families at our Balance studio and administrative support for Urbanity’s Community programs. The employee will be based at our Balance location in the South End approximately 24 hours per week, and will prioritize parent/student interaction and customer service on an as-needed basis while balancing responsibilities related to administrative support of Urbanity’s Community programs. The Coordinator will be directly supported and supervised by the School Administrative Manager, and will be trained to be well-versed and highly responsive in all of the administrative responsibilities related to the School and Urbanity’s Community programs. The employee will be based at the Urbanity administrative office for the remaining 3 hours required for this position in order to attend Staff and Education Team meetings.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver excellent customer service as a lead interface with parents and students, including assisting with registrations and billing (in person, and via email and phone)

  • Be the first point of contact for any inquiry related to Urbanity’s Community programs

  • Post job announcements for Urbanity’s Community programs

  • Support faculty who teach for Urbanity’s Community programs (gather student testimonials, coordinate photo/video documentation and document community stories)

  • Support Director of Education with survey/data collation and outcome/impact studies

  • Support billing for Community programs

  • Supplies management at Balance: check supplies / restock / reorder

  • Facilities management at Balance: assist with facility maintenance projects; maintain clean facilities in coordination with other staff

Qualifications:

  • Administrative experience

  • Proficiency with MS Office/Google Apps

  • Customer service experience

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Strong writing and communication skills

  • Outgoing, proactive approach

  • Detail-oriented

  • Experience with /aptitude for working in a fast-paced environment and an organization that delivers many programs

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with dance / other nonprofit arts organizations is a plus

  • Speaks Spanish or Haitian Creole

The projected schedule for this position is as follows: Monday 3 - 9:15pm, Tuesday 1:30 - 9:15pm, Wednesday 3 - 9:15pm and Saturdays 8:30 - 3pm (subject to change but position will include weeknight and weekend shifts). As an arts organization with performance and education programs, a certain amount of flexibility to work additional hours outside of the established schedule is also appreciated.

Salary: $15 per hour at 27 hours per week

Development Coordinator

Urbanity Dance is looking to hire a Development Coordinator. Please apply by January 13, 2019.

This staff member will play a key role in implementing Urbanity’s Development plan and meeting targeted goals, and will work closely with and be supervised by Urbanity’s Managing Director.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis; early applications are encouraged. We are aiming to have the successful candidate start in February 2019.

Development responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with Managing Director on annual Development plan and its execution

  • Collaborate with Managing Director and Marketing Manager to develop and execute fundraising campaigns via online platforms and printed materials

  • In collaboration with Managing Director, lead planning and organization of Development events

  • Collaborate with Managing Director and others on grant research, applications and reporting

  • Maintain and organize donor information and records in a system such as Salesforce

  • Track donations and process donation acknowledgment receipts

  • Contribute to annual budget preparation process for Development, and work within/monitor Development budget

  • Other related duties as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Administrative experience

  • Proficiency with MS Office/Google

  • Outgoing, proactive approach

  • Detail-oriented

  • Experience with / aptitude for working in a fast-paced environment and an organization that delivers many programs

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with dance / other nonprofit arts organizations is a plus

  • Development experience

  • Proficiency with Salesforce (or similar donor tracking platform)

Please note, as a performing arts organization with performance and education programs, this role may occasionally require working evening and weekend hours surrounding performances and events.

Salary: $15 per hour at 35 hours per week
