Adult Dance and Wellness

What do I wear?
Urbanity's dress code is flexible, but dancers should wear something in which they feel comfortable moving, stretching, tumbling, and sweating. Footwear: bare feet or socks. Hip hop students should wear a clean pair of non-mark sneakers that aren't also worn outside. Jazz students should wear jazz shoes.

Which class level should I sign up for?
Technically, session-enroll classes are beginner level, and drop-in classes are intermediate/advanced. However, there is a great deal of flexibility in both programs. For help deciding which program is best for you, contact Haley at haley@urbanitydance.org or 617-572-3727.

I'm in a 10-week Session Enroll class and I need to miss a few classes. Do you offer make-up options?
Yes! You are welcome to make-up missed classes in any Session Enroll classes. Notify us beforehand so we can let the instructor know.

What if there is a cancellation due to inclement weather or an emergency?
Urbanity closings for weather emergencies will be communicated to students through email and on the studio's voice mail at least two hours before class is scheduled to begin. Students may make-up classes missed for weather emergencies at any point.

If I sign up but later need to withdraw, do you offer refunds?
Yes. Contact us to request refunds. Refunds will be issued for every class following the date of communication.

What do I wear?
Dress code is flexible as long as the clothing is comfortable and covers well when students are tumbling. Footwear is generally bare feet except with these noted exceptions:
•Hip Hop classes: clean, non-mark sneakers that aren't worn outside
•Contemporary Levels II and up: ballet shoes needed for barre work

I need to miss a few classes. Do you offer make-up options?
Yes! You are welcome to come do a make-up class in the same age group or level. Notify us beforehand so we can let the instructor know. Note: Holidays do not need to be made up because they are included in the 36-week schedule.

Can we take a trial class?
Yes. Email haley@urbanitydance.org or call 617-572-3727 to schedule a trial class.

What if there is a cancellation due to inclement weather or an emergency?

If I sign up but later need to withdraw, do you offer refunds?
