Alex Jimenez started his formal training at the age of 18 at Jeannette Neill’s Dance Studio under the direction of James Viera where he was first exposed to Ballet, Modern, Tap, and Jazz. At 19 he was accepted into the dance department of Marymount Manhattan College where he studied various techniques such as Classical Ballet, Nikolais, O’Donnell, Horton, Graham, and Limon. He has had the opportunity to perform works by Robert Battle, Jiri Kylian, Hans van Manen, Donald McKayle, Jeannette Neill, May O’Donnell, Marcus Schulkind, Denise Vale, and James Viera. Alexander has received scholarships to attend the Boston Jazz Festival, Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance, and Springboard Montreal. Notable venues performed at include The Joyce Theater, NY and La Place de Arts, Montreal. Alexander is very excited to be with Urbanity Dance and looks forward to collaborating and growing with the company.
