Adult Dance and Wellness

What do I wear?
Urbanity's dress code is flexible, but dancers should wear something in which they feel comfortable moving, stretching, tumbling, and sweating. Footwear: bare feet or socks. Hip hop students should wear a clean pair of non-mark sneakers that aren't also worn outside. Jazz students should wear jazz shoes.

Which class level should I sign up for?
Technically, session-enroll classes are beginner level, and drop-in classes are intermediate/advanced. However, there is a great deal of flexibility in both programs. For help deciding which program is best for you, contact studio@urbanitydance.org or 617-572-3727.

I'm in a 12-week Session class and I need to miss a few classes. Do you offer make-up options?
Yes! You are welcome to make-up missed classes in any Drop-in classes. Notify us beforehand so we can let the instructor know.

What if there is a cancellation due to inclement weather or an emergency?
Urbanity closings for weather emergencies will be communicated to students through email, on the website's homepage, and on the studio's voicemail message at least two hours before class is scheduled to begin. Students may make-up classes missed for weather emergencies with a Drop-in class or at a pre-scheduled class, which Urbanity will communicate to students about.

If I sign up but later need to withdraw, do you offer refunds?
We offer refunds if students drop before the third class. After the third class, no refunds are offered. For verifiable medical emergencies, we are able to work with students on a case-by-case basis.

•Contemporary Levels II and up: ballet shoes needed for barre work

I need to miss a few classes. Do you offer make-up options?
Yes! You are welcome to come do a make-up class in the same age group or level. Notify us beforehand so we can let the instructor know. Note: Holidays are not made up.

Can we take a trial class?
Yes. Email studio@urbanitydance.org or call 617-572-3727 to schedule a trial class.

What if there is a cancellation due to inclement weather or an emergency?
Urbanity closings for weather emergencies will be communicated to students through email, on our website's homepage, and on the studio's voicemail message at least two hours before class is scheduled to begin. Students may make-up classes missed for weather emergencies at any point, but notify us beforehand about which class you'd like to attend so we can let the instructor know.

If I sign up but later need to withdraw, do you offer refunds?
Yes. Refer to our refund policy in the Student Handbook. Conditions and restrictions apply.

Do you offer financial aid?
